Well-Digging in the Volta Region of Ghana

Access to Water, Access to Life

Operating The Sky House and Women’s Residence in Ghana has not only brought us close to our resident Ghanaians, but also to those in the communities around us. Access to clean water is a difficulty for many across the Volta Region. As members of our community, our team has been proud to lend our hands in a growing number of well-digs. Below, the village of Dalo Negblekorpe celebrates the opening of a The Sky Is My Limit mechanized borehole in 2018.

Why Well-Digging?

Our residents come from many places in Ghana. Residents with us from The Volta School For The Deaf explained how the school did not have access to clean water. This was something we knew we could help with, but did not realize the extent to which the well-digging project would grow.

Our first dig was a challenge, but a huge success for the school and community. That success was heard in the area. In the Volta Region of Ghana, some have to walk 3 hours to collect clean water. It isn’t a surprise then that we were soon approached by the small village of Dzogadze in Southern Volta, the home village of our director Michael Nyaahe, to dig a mechanized borehole there.

Keeping the Water Accessible

Each successful well-digging project brought with it access to clean water for so many. Water is life, and this project brings water to life. Each well-dig connects us to more Ghanaians. It brings us to life. This is a project we are proud of, and, with your help, will continue. The Sky Is My Limit’s efforts are approaching the half-century mark for well-digs and mechanized boreholes throughout the Volta Region of Ghana.
